Biju Sir, distinguished by 27 years in legal education and roles such as former Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calicut and Associate Professor of Law (Rtd.) from Government Law College, Kozhikode, leads our Kerala Judiciary examination coaching. His extensive experience and profound knowledge are invaluable to our program. Beyond teaching, Biju Sir has significantly contributed to legal education as Chairperson of various legal committees and as a resource person at notable institutions like IMG Kerala, IIM Calicut, and NIT Calicut, showcasing his commitment to legal excellence.

Ajay Ratnan, co-founder of Writs, has significantly contributed to legal education, notably through co-authoring a three-time Amazon bestseller guide for the Kerala law entrance examination. His academic journey saw him excelling at the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, where he completed his LL.M. as a rank holder, and his tenure as an Assistant Professor of Law at Government Law College, Kozhikode, further highlights his dedication to nurturing future legal professionals. Ajay’s distinction in securing the UGC Junior Research Fellowship in 2022 and his roles as visiting faculty at esteemed institutions such as FIMS and the Kerala Police Academy emphasize his broad impact on legal education.

COURSE DETAILS

I. REGISTRATION:

Registration begins in the first week of May.

The course fee for the Preliminary Exam is Rs. 15,000/-

Payment Options:

  • Full Payment: Payable in full upon registration.
  • Installment Payment Plan:
    • First Installment: Rs. 5,000/- due at the time of registration in May 2024.

    • Second Installment: Rs. 5,000/- payable between the 1st and 10th of September 2024.

    • Third Installment: Rs. 5,000/- payable between the 1st and 10th of December 2024.

Consequences of Non-Payment: In the event of non-payment of the course fee as per the agreed schedule, Writs maintains the authority to implement certain measures to uphold the integrity of our program. Specifically, if payment is delayed beyond 7 days from its due date, Writs will initially restrict access to online classes as a preliminary measure. Should the payment remain unsettled for an extended period of 14 days beyond the due date, Writs reserves the unequivocal right to remove the participant from the program entirely.

II. COURSE SCHEDULE:

Course Duration: 10 Months

Classes start in the first week of June and continue until the last week of March of the following year.

Classes are scheduled for 4 days a week on alternate days, from 6 AM to 8 AM.

Each session will last 2 hours.

It is crucial to understand that our coaching extends well beyond the Preliminary examination, with a profound and detailed focus on preparing students for the Mains examination as well. The instruction provided in the Preliminary stage encompasses subjects in an extensive manner, laying a strong foundation for the Main Examination preparation.

Participants who qualify in the Preliminary exam will be presented with the option to continue their coaching journey with us for the Mains Examination. For the Mains, coaching will concentrate on those subjects not covered during the Preliminary coaching, along with a crash course of additional procedural subjects pertinent to the roles of Munsiff-Magistrates.

The course fee for the Mains Examination and interview stage will be communicated in due course.

III. MOCK TESTS:

WRITS will conduct both full-length and section-wise mock tests as per the schedule decided by Writs.

Participants will have a 24-hour window, or as fixed by WRITS, to attempt each mock test.

Missed mock tests cannot be retaken. Adherence to the test schedule is mandatory.

IV. REFUNDS:

A. WRITS Refund Policy

At WRITS, we are committed to providing our Participants with a high-quality preparation course for the Kerala Judicial Service Examination. We understand that circumstances can change, and we have established the following refund policy to address such situations fairly and transparently.

B. Refund Eligibility:

  • Full Refund: A full refund of the paid course fee is available if a participant withdraws their enrollment within 7 days of payment or before the third live class, whichever comes later.
  • No Refund: No refunds will be issued after the 7 days of payment or the third live class has concluded, as resources and staffing have been allocated based on the confirmed number of Participants.

C. Reasons for Refund Denial:

  • Access to Course Materials: If a participant has accessed a significant portion of the course materials or participated in the mock tests, they are not eligible for a refund.
  • Course Progression: No refunds will be granted once the course has progressed beyond the initial stages, as the participant has had the opportunity to benefit from the coaching services.
  • Non-Attendance: Refunds will not be issued based on non-attendance of classes without prior notification and withdrawal within the refund eligibility period.

D. Process for Requesting a Refund:

  • Written Notice: Participants must provide written notice of their intent to withdraw from the course and request a refund.
  • Review: Each refund request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, considering the reasons provided and the participant’s engagement with the course.
  • Decision: The final decision on the refund will be communicated to the Participant within 7 business days of the refund request.

E. Exceptions:

Exceptions to this policy may be considered in cases of extenuating circumstances, such as severe medical issues or unforeseen personal crises. Documentation will be required, and decisions on such exceptions will be made at the discretion of WRITS management.

F. Acknowledgement:

By enrolling in the WRITS Judicial Coaching, participants acknowledge that they have read and understood this refund policy. They agree that the decision made by WRITS regarding any refund requests is final.

V. CLASS CANCELLATIONS:

WRITS reserves the right to cancel any class due to technical or non-technical reasons. Cancelled classes will be rescheduled, and Participants will be informed of the new date and time.

VI. CODE OF CONDUCT & ONLINE CLASS ETIQUETTE:

  • Professional Behavior: Participants are expected to maintain a respectful and professional demeanor during classes. Disruptive behavior may result in temporary or permanent removal from the course.
  • Online Etiquette:
    • Punctuality: Participants should join the online class on time. Late entries can be disruptive.
    • Mute When Not Speaking: To minimize background noise, Participants should keep their microphones muted unless they are speaking.
    • Video Protocol: If using video, ensure the background is appropriate and free from distractions. Dress as you would for an in-person class.
    • Avoid Multitasking: Refrain from browsing the web, checking social media, or engaging in other activities during class.
    • Raise Hand Feature: Use the “raise hand” feature or chat function if you have a question or comment, rather than interrupting the lecture.
    • Respectful Communication: Always be polite and respectful in your communications.
    • Confidentiality: Do not share or distribute class recordings, materials, or chat logs without permission.
  • Rights of the Faculty:
    • Control Over Content: Faculty members have the right to control and direct the content of their lectures and discussions.
    • Moderation: Faculty can mute or remove Participants from the online platform if they are disruptive or not adhering to the code of conduct.
    • Feedback: Faculty have the right to provide constructive feedback to Participants regarding their performance and participation.
    • Protection of Intellectual Property: Participants must not reproduce, distribute, or use the faculty’s teaching materials without explicit permission.
    • Decision Making: Faculty have the final say in any disputes or issues that arise during the class, subject to review by the WRITS administration.

VII. DATA PRIVACY:

Personal information of Participants will be kept confidential and will not be shared with third parties without explicit consent.

VIII. AMENDMENTS:

WRITS reserves the right to modify these rules and regulations. Any changes will be communicated to Participants in a timely manner.
